TALKING LIBRARIES
In 2017 I was made Comic Artist In Residence for The Word in South Shields, as part of the Arts In Libraries programme, funded by Arts Council England. The residency led up to the creation of a piece of comic work inspired by the people I encountered at The Word. Talking Libraries is the result - a 16pp humorous comic strip essay on the evolving idea of the modern library.
The comic can be read in it’s entirety below. The original print run of 250 copies is available for free via The Word and a free digital copy can be downloaded here. A more detailed breakdown of the project can be read on my blog.
